Julian Rivero's (1890-1976) film career spanned 1923 to 1973. I thought he was just another extra when I photographed him on the set of "The High Chaparral."

He was given a screen credit, which was rare. "The Reward" was shot at Old Tucson as was "Strange Lady in Town," in which he appeared uncredited.
Rivero appeared in one John Wayne film: "Tycoon," 1947.

I am the last person cited in Jim Hughes' definitive biography of Gene, as I wrote about attending his final...
