Description
While not matching the "prettiness" of Gary Cooper seen two frames back, Duke cut a dashing figure in his early talkies. And he had a full head of hair!
Cooper was a major star in the 1930's while Duke languished in grade z productions.
"Cooper" received his second Oscar, for the role of Marshall Will Kane in "High Noon," in 1952 the year Duke appeared in John Ford's "The Quiet Man."
"Coop" would be the only rival to Duke's as the ultimate Western icon.
