Description
In the late 1990's Duke, after being deceased for 20 years, began to posthumously endorse Coors light beer.
Product knickknacks included tin signs. This collector unceremoniously nailed them to the front door of his broken down, (unnamed) used tire store in Coolidge, AZ.
Shortly after the city completely obliterated his business and his piles of artistically arranged junk.
They would have made a striking "art installation" in a fancy New York City art gallery.
"You can't eat awards. Nor, more to the point, drink 'em." JW
"I never trust a man that doesn't drink."
In 1962 Duke had a cameo role in an episode of "The Beverly Hillbillies." When asked about his fee he replied. "Give me a fifth of bourbon and that'll square it."
