Artist's Description

Robert Taylor (1911-1969) appeared in three film noirs in succession: "Undercurrent" (1946), "The High Wall" (1947) and "The Bribe " (1949). Taylor could be both suave and menacing at the same time.

H.B. Warner (1875-1958) played Mr. Slocum in "High Wall." His film career spanned 1914 to 1956 with Cecil B. DeMille's "The Ten Commandments," His career high was as a 52-year-old Jesus Christ in DeMille's 1927 silent epic, "King of Kings."

Warner also appeared in six Frank Capra (1897-1991) films, most of which are classics of the American cinema.

I am the last person cited in Jim Hughes' definitive biography of Gene, as I wrote about attending his final...
