This is Clifton (Morenci's sister city), Arizona's main street in circa 1910, about the time of future artist Ettore (later called Ted) DeGrazia's birth in Morenci on June 14, 1909 to an Italian immigrant father and (as so he claimed) an Apache mother.
Oliver Risdon is the photographer. The film he used was not fast enough to freeze a frame of a a person running. The extreme depth of field (foreground and background in focus) would indicate it was a longish shutter speed with the camera on a tripod on an elevated platform of some sort, perhaps a buggy or wagon.
The Royal movie theater in the background is still standing but is shuttered. Films shown in 1910 would be short one or two reelers; !0/12 to 20 minutes in length.
D.W. Griffith (1875-1948) entered films in 1908.

I first became obsessed with photography and motion pictures while growing up in post WW2 Manila in the Philippine Islands in the late 1940's/early 1950's. Film noirs were a particular influence. But my first love remains the theater. I acted in numerous amateur productions from 1958 to 1978. In 1979 I earned a MA in drama from the University of Arizona; earlier getting a BA in English from the University of Minnesota, where I co-founded the first film society on campus and ran it for four years. While at the U of A, I studied with the master black and white photo essayist W. Eugene Smith (1918-1978) the last year of his life.
