Artist's Description
The US Postmaster General's Citizen Advisory Committee yearly receives some 40,000 suggestions for possible stamps. 30 subjects are finally selected.
In 2013 Johnny Cash was chosen, with a 1963 portrait taken of the "Man in Black" by photographer Frank Bez, as the art work.

The stamp was issued in the summer of 2013 as part of the new Music Icons series.
