Description
Dick Mayers was a friend of the internationally known artist Ted DeGrazia (1909-1982), inviting him to draw in the KVOA TV studio.
Like Pablo Picasso, Ted drew swiftly and effortlessly. Ted was a master at self promotion, fostering his maverick image. Even when visiting movers and shakers in the rarefied art world of New York City, he dressed unpretentiously as a cowboy.
When he finally made decent money from his art, after years of struggle, he told news director Garry Greenberg that he paid cash for a brand new vehicle.
