Artist's Description

Both Wayne and Broderick Crawford collected original art work by Ted DeGrazia, who was hailed as the most reproduced artist in history.

Duke liked to display his collection on the walls of his home. In a photo dating from the early 1960's he is seen, cigarette in hand, playing with his daughter Aissa. The living room wall in his ranch style house in the San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles is adorned with art.

{Note: Crawford rose to greatness in his Academy Award portrayal of Willie Stark (a thinly disguised Huey Long) in "All the King's Men."

While at the U of A, I studied with the master black and white photo essayist W. Eugene Smith (1918-1978) the last year of his life. I am the last person cited in Jim Hughes' definitive biography of Gene, as I wrote about attending his final...
