Description
Jerry Rubin (1938-1994), along with Dr. Timothy Leary, was one of the more charismatic leaders of the counter culture movement in the late 1960's and early 1970's.
Surely I'll never again witness a scene like this in my lifetime.
At a park in Tucson, Arizona, Rubin was urging the enraptured listeners to kill their parents and/or rob banks. Despite the numerous roars of approval, there is no record of any in the crowd taking his impassioned advice.
It was all street theater.
Rubin shed his facial hair and tie-dye shirt for a business suit. An early investor in Apple, he was a maverick to the very end. He died from injuries received while jaywalking.
