Description
A matador is awarded an ear cut from the downed bull. Some critics have called bullfighting barbaric. The most humane method is practiced in Portugal where the bull is not killed.
Mexico is in love with bullfighting; the largest arena is in Mexico City - Plaza Mexico.
Ted Degrazia made a water color "Matador Taunts the Bull," in 1952, followed by three paintings in oil, "Left Handed Natural" (1966), "Banderillero" and "Picing," both in 1966 also.
One of the six permanent galleries in DeGrazia's Mission in the Sun is "Bullfight."
