Description
The story goes that when Orson Welles was getting a crash course in filming in Hollywood he watched the John Ford directed "Stagecoach" 40 times.
Ford, along with Welles, Howard Hawks and William Wyler is cited as the finest film director of talking pictures in American movies.
This image has him sitting in a director's chair in his favorite Western location - Monument Valley.
In 1966 Ford sat down with the BBC to talk about himself and his film career.

Five years later he put on his rude, mean spirited face while being questioned by an unseen Peter Bogdanovich. As with the BBC interview, he uses cigars as a distracting prop.
