Artist's Description

Tombstone photographer C.S. Fly documented the surrender of Geronimo in 1887. The Apache mystic, with the kerchief, poses on his horse. His nephew Naiche is the other horseman.

Chappo is on the left, with Kay-I-Tah standing on the right as verified by Geronimo's grandson Nino Cochise.

"Papagos, Apaches, Yaquis. They are God's gift to painters, They are colorful, they have dignity, pride and respect. We work together, drink together and become friends. We stay together, we have many laughs. And now we are growing old together."Ted DeGrazia

David Lee Guss

I am the last person cited in Jim Hughes' definitive biography of Gene, as I wrote about attending his final...
