Description
In October 1936 the former San Agustin Cathedral was leveled but not before the facade with its rose window was salvaged by historian George W. Chambers. Earlier he had rescued artifacts from Tombstone that had been scheduled to be destroyed.
San Augustin Cathedral is visible in the background. This picture was taken from the roof of the Cine Plaza Theater. It was cropped so oddly at the bottom as trees from the church plaza obscured the view.
The Cole Brothers Circus posters help date the image.
