Artist's Description

Tucson, Arizona's second city hall was built in 1917 about the time the police department purchased their first motorcycle. The members of the department posed on the steps of the building, which was leveled in 1972.

The city hall is on view in "A Kiss Before Dying" shot in the blazingly hot summer of 1955 in several Tucson locations, including the Santa Rita Hotel, the University of Arizona and the Valley National Building on 2 East Congress a stone's throw from the Fox Tucson Theater across the street.

]The color film noir climaxed with the death of the psychotic killer, anti-hero played surprisingly well by Robert Wagner, at the Inspiration Consolidated Copper Company mine in Miami, Arizona.

The 1956 release is available for viewing on Netflix.

I am the last person cited in Jim Hughes' definitive biography of Gene, as I wrote about attending his final...
