Description
Surely the most unique performer in all of cinema is Lon Chaney (1883-1930) called "The Man of a Thousand Faces." Sadly he died after making only one talkie; a 1930 remake of his 1925 silent "Three."
His greatest triumphs were as Quasimodo in "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" (1923) and two years later as the Phantom in "The Phantom of the Opera." That he was the child of deaf mute parents only honed his skills as a mime.
