Description
The most unique performer in all of film history has to be Lon Chaney (1883-1930). The son of deaf mute parents learned pantomime from the cradle.
One of his most famous roles was in 1925's "The Phantom of the Opera."

The famous unmasking scene is at 45:24 followed soon after with the two strip Technicolor Masked Ball sequence.
The ParIs Opera House set has been put into storage at Universal as the oldest extant set in Hollywood is now history. The entire sound stage has been leveled to make way for the building of a new facility.
