Description
"Targets" (1968), which climaxed at a drive in theater, was a fitting end to the stellar career of William Henry Pratt, better known as Boris Karloff (1887-1969). Karloff had toiled mightily to make a living as an actor; even driving a truck for a time.
Once when walking home from the studio he was picked up by Lon Chaney (1883-1930) who advised the struggling actor to find a unique niche and fill it.
Karloff did just that with James Whale's "Frankenstein." He was 44 and had already appeared in 80 films to little acclaim. In 1931 alone, the year of the horror classic's release, he was in 15 other films.

And Karloff even gets to talk in James Whale's campy sequel "The Bride of Frankenstein" (1935).
