Artist's Description

"Our Hospitality" is only Buster's second feature, after years of making shorts, but it is one of his best. The comedy is set in the 1830's, with Buster expertly operating a unicycle as a running gag. Buster directed, produced, wrote and starred in the 1923 film.

I favored shooting Old Tucson in bad weather; the more miserable the better. This porch (1967) is right in front of the final shoot out in Bud Boetticher's "Buchanan Rides Again" (1958).

This is where Johnny Cash posed with "The Over the Hill Gang" a dozen years later. John Wayne also used it in both "Rio Bravo" and "El Dorado."

I am the last person cited in Jim Hughes' definitive biography of Gene, as I wrote about attending his final...
