Description
Karloff had a small role (pre 'Frankenstein') but is given third billing here. For years this was not available for viewing as producer Howard Hughes didn't want it screened. I showed a Gary Lacher owned bootleg print at the Jewish Community Center in Tucson, Arizona for Shirley Pasternak in the late 1970's.
Director Howard Hughes is revered in France. I met Hawks when he filmed his last production 'Rio Lobo' (1970) at Old Tucson in Tucson. For a man who had also directed so many classic comedies he struck me as rather sour and humorless. Maybe he was in a foul mood because he was saddled with an inferior script.
